Why I Started Shine

Why I Started Shine I love people. I have always had a heart for people, but when my eyes were spiritually opened, I began to see people differently. I saw the purpose, potential, and calling God had placed inside of them, and I became passionate about helping people realize they don't have to stay stuck. God had a plan for your life before you were ever born. A few years ago, God placed it on my heart to write a book. I never dreamed of being an author, but when I said yes, the words simply began to flow. I truly felt like the Holy Spirit was writing through me. That book, Let God's Light Shine Through You, was published by TBN and Trilogy Publishing. Shortly after, I felt God place another dream in my heart, a women's conference. That yes became The Shine Women's Conference. Four conferences later, I continue to be amazed by what God is doing through the Shine Conference. Every testimony, every breakthrough, and every woman who walks away knowing Jesus more deeply reminds me why God placed this in my heart. God has been blessing our events and conferences in such a powerful way. I want every woman to know the authority God has given her, and that she does not have to live bound by the lies and deception of the enemy. Jesus said in Luke 10:19, "I have given you authority... over all the power of the enemy." My heart is to see women step into that authority, walk boldly in their God-given purpose, and become everything God created them to be. But Shine is about more than one conference. Through the Shine Room, women have a place to connect, encourage one another, and stay connected in a virtual room between conferences with live teachings from me twice a month. Throughout the year, we also host Shine Workshops that create opportunities to go deeper into healing, identity, faith, freedom, and purpose. I also have the privilege of hosting the podcast Shining HIS Light in the Darkness with my daughter, Brittain Bickham, where we have honest conversations about faith, life, and the places where God's light truly shines through all the dark things we face in life. I believe the Shine Conference is only the beginning. I feel God calling me to take this message across the world—to women everywhere who need to know who they are and what God has placed inside of them. My prayer is that every woman who encounters the Shine Conference will leave knowing that she is not forgotten and she does not have to remain trapped by her past or the enemy's lies. God created you with purpose, placed something uniquely inside of you, and has a plan for your life that is greater than what you can see right now and my greatest desire is to help you discover it, walk in it, and let His light shine through you. — Kelly Taubert Founder, Shine Women's Conference
